Fashion Club meeting achieves success

Fashion Club has kicked off. The first meeting, held September 18th, had a surprisingly large turnout, a total of 30 participants all of whom were girls.
The club meets once a month on Thursdays.
Jessica Kirschner, 12, is the president with Eryn Kipner, 10, as vice president. Miss Deborah Klemt is the sponsor of the group.
“Being vice president is a lot of responsibility, but it’s a lot of fun and definitely worth it. It’s very important to me because I want to go into fashion at UC. I’m happy with the group this year. It’s full of fun and friendly people that welcome anyone to come check the club out,” said Kipner.
At the meetings, they do different activities involving fashion. They go to fashion shows and other fashion related events. They may do projects such as making scarves or sketching new designs.
The group also goes to thrift stores as shopping trips, searching for unique fashion statements.
The clubs meetings provide a fun environment for students wishing to get involved in fashion. The president and vice president urge anyone to come, even if it’s to just one meeting, to see what Fashion Club is all about.
“Since this is my first year at Sycamore, Fashion Club is a great way for me to meet other people with similar interests,” Sonali Jain, 10.
The next meeting will be held Thursday, October 23rd in Klemt’s room.
