“I’m really excited for the trip,” said Elise Marchant, 10.
In preparation for the expedition, members have busied themselves packing, informing teachers of their upcoming absences, and perfecting their routine at practice after school, which they will perform in a major parade in Downtown Disney.
“I can’t wait!  I’m going crazy!” said Bailey Dowlin, 10.
The trip will bring the strenuous season of competitions, football games, and long practices after school to a close, a reward for the extensive hours of arduous work the group has diligently put in throughout the year.
Now, as marching band winds down, a large portion of its members look forward to participating in Big Band, a jazz band that does not require an audition.  All instruments are welcome, including nontraditional band instruments.
“I’m joining because it’s fun to play music,” said Rachel Morris, 10.  “In concert band, we don’t play as catchy songs.”
Big Band’s first rehearsal will be held on Thursday, November 20 in Room 263.  The meeting will begin at 3:30 and run through 4:45.
Upon their return from Disney, many members of the marching band are eager to continue their pursuit of music in Big Band.
