Seventh bell, room 233, Student Council can be seen, planning and helping with various aspects of SHS. After running for positions last year, students came into 2009-2010 school year excited and ready to work.
“Coming into Student Council the first day was really exciting, but also a little nerve-racking. But, after getting to know everyone in the different classes, I’ve met a lot of new people, and had a lot of fun working on homecoming,” said Samantha Wolkoff, 9.
Student Council has undergone a few significant changes. Ms. Holy Schall, social studies teacher, and Mrs. Cynthia Parrott, science teacher, have become the new advisors for student council.
“So far, everything we have done has been a lot of fun, and I am so excited for the rest of the year, and everything Student Council has to offer,” said Schall, advisor.
Last year, Mr. Christopher Kloesz, former English teacher, and Mrs. Kate Korchok, Spanish teacher, were the advisors, and had been for numerous years. Korchok is still involved in Student Council this year as the Senior Class advisor.
After just finishing a lot of hard work with homecoming, Student Council is ready and eager to begin work on their various future projects.
“Student Council does so many different things for SHS, and it is fun, but also a lot of hard work. At the end, it is all worth it, though,” said Josie McKinnon, 12.
