“MotionPro is a really cool program,” said Carrie Tvieta, 11. To get an advantage the softball team is using video technology. Players are taped during practice, so that they can analyze their hitting motion. Using a program called MotionPro; a player can see their swing in comparison to the top athletes of the game. The program breaks down the swing and lets a player see exactly what is happening. It even has drawing tools that allows a coach to draw what the proper position should be. “The program was really helpful for me because I saw that I was not turning my hips,” said Meghan Stoy, 10. The team will continue to use the system, so players can watch themselves and fix their bad habits. “I think it is really cool that I can see my swing in slow motion,” said Dallas Burris, 12. The team opens up the season against Princeton on March 26. Players are excited to start the season and look to be a force in the GMC. – Posted: Thu, Mar 11 2010 8:29:14 AM EST by Emily Cohen |
