Freshmen baseball season heats up

Boys are under .500

Baseball has become the only thing in life for the freshmen, as it for any high school baseball player at the school.
“Every day without any days off. It is tough,” said Kevin Bogenschutz, 9.
It has made for a lot of late night homework. Quick fast food stops on the way home from games; games which lasted way longer than the expected two plus hours.
But, it is all worth it when they win.
“Every time we win makes doing late night homework much more worth it,” said Matt Cianciolo, 9.
So far, they have done a decent job at that.
After getting out to a 3-0 start, the frosh team dropped three straight games in three days, but they were quickly on the rebound.
A sweep of a doubleheader on Saturday, April 11, had the team looking good at 5-3.
But three straight losses have the squad in a spot they do not want to be in: under .500.
The great thing about baseball is that the season is a marathon not a sprint and that no matter what, when the day draws to a close, one will always have a chance to be better tomorrow.
“We just have to look forward to the next game and win it,” said Michael Streicher, 9.
