Choir Students sand their first performance at Eighth grade day Feb. 8.

With eighth graders entering high school next year, the choral classes are eager for some new talent.

“I love singing for the eighth graders because eventually some of these people will become my new classmates, maybe even my sister will join choir,” said Megan Shindler, 11.

With the hope for a growing choral student population, the high school students performed Tshotesloza, which hits home for many junior high students as they are familiar with that piece.

“It is a great song that really gets everyone in the audience in cool rhythm, plus it is really fun to sing,” said Kyle Hackett, 10.

High school choir students will be making a second appearance in front of the junior high students, Feb. 16, and the men of the choir will be attending the SJHS Boy Choir, earlier that day as well.

“I think every new student entering the high school next year should definitely consider taking choir, it has been my favorite class my entire high school career,” said Katie Lee, 12.
