The show must go on
With only a few days left before "the Outsiders" goes on, Ave's Theatre's actors have been rehearsing harder than ever in order to prepare to make sure that the play will be as good as can be.
Now that technical components such as lighting music especially composed by SHS student Bradley Kirkendal, 11, have been added, "the show is definitely getting much better" said Brandon Ramos, 12, who plays the principal character, "Ponyboy."
"I've come to really love 'the Outsiders,'" said Griffin Levee, 11, who at first had a few doubts about the production.
Director and acting instructor John Whapham said that "he is proud of the work [the students] are doing," after the first two days of Tech Week.
Tech Week is a pre-opening night rehearsal schedule that starts at four thirty with a provided dinner, and ends, in Whapham's words, "once we're done." These rehearsals can run as late as 10:00 or 11:00 o'clock to prepare for opening night.
"The Oursiders'" cast has so far had no need for such measures, and Tech Week has been a more of a relaxing experience, with rehearsals only lasting to 9:00 or 9:30.
"The Outsiders" tickets will be available for purchase both on Ave Theare's website, as well as at lunch Feburary 1st and 2nd for $10.
