On Mar. 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. the girls lacrosse hosted their annual play day at SJHS. Teams from all around the city were invited to these sets of scrimmages, where SHS emerged victorious.
The girls lacrosse team went 3-0 against Mount Notre Dame, Ursuline Academy and Kings High School.
“I was especially proud of our last game, we shut out Kings 8-0,” said Abby Wise, 10. Wise is the girls’ first year goalie, and like many of the new players, she improved her game significantly at this event.
“As the day progressed, we played better and better. It was really awesome to see how we grew as a team,” said Hayley Baas, 12.
Although many girls were missing due to SAT testing inconveniences, the girls overcame adversity and still emerged victorious.
“We only had two of our starting defenders there that day, but I still think we did pretty well,” said Maddie Baker, 10.
The girls have another set of scrimmages on Mar. 17, this time facing off against Mariemont, Ursuline Academy, and Anderson High School.
