A sex education speaker came to sophomore health classes and spoke about the dangers of premarital sex. The goal was to educate students on the risks of sexual behavior so students would think twice about participating in it.
“The speaker really showed a view of the concept that I never really saw before and she had a very positive effect on me and my future,”Aditya Chaudhury, 10.
STD’s are the deadliest issue when it comes to sex, especially if someone’s partner has had multiple partners before them. The most common STD’s among teens are Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis.
These STD’s cause harm beyond reproach, as students saw in the many disturbing images of how STD’s affect the body.
“Health class literally made me abstinent and I’m actually serious,” said Robert Scott, 10.
The state of Ohio has many departments that allow for public schools to receive such informative presentations on this pressing issue. With them we learn information that help prevent deadly disease and teen pregnancy.
“She opened my eyes to the true harms and consequences of sex and through her stories and facts really made a great argument against it,” said Nimit Desai, 10.
