SHS students proved to be successful in the 87th annual Scholastics Art & Writing competition. 41 students were chosen; several had multiple pieces selected.
Gold Key winners include: Jennifer Hill, Alex Kirschner, Marissa Shor, Alexandra Logsdon, Kailyn Smith, Benjamin Keel, Celia Keim, Olivia Smith, Shaina Bahler, Kendra Grubba, Ben Head, Emily Peltz, Shayna Siegel, Christine Touvelle, and Graham Livingston.
Silver Award winners include: Eric Byers, Ellen Wang, Michelle Ewert, Alyssandra Daniels, Nicholas Lo, Kara Marth, Benjamin Wulker, Molly Loftspring, Elizabeth Martin, Claire Pustinger, Christine Touvelle , and Ben Wells.
Honorable Mentions include: Jake Paul, Andrew Spiller, Olivia Smith, Kelly Bryce, Jennifer Hill, Alex Kirschner, Virginia Elliott, Sarah Frey, Megan Gundler, Alexandra Logsdon, Jaimie Maxwell, Theodore Simon, Ellen Wang, Alicia Zavala, Michelle Ewert, Kirsten Ledbetter, Nicholas Lo, Caitlin Carey, Leah Grinshpun, Ben Head, Eric Ma, Shayna Siegel, and Graham Livingston.
All of these regional selections will be put on display at a gallery at the RiverCenter building in Covington, Kentucky. They will be put on display starting Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. (open until 10 p.m.) through Feb. 20 at 4:00 p.m.
The Gold Key winners’ work will further be considered for national recognition.
If the Gold Key winners’ work is selected a second time it will be put on display in New York City at Carnegie Hall on June 1, 2012. These pieces will also be competing against each other for scholarship recognition.
