Whitney Houston was certainly a great musical artist. People around the world will never forget the way she sang: with overflowing passion and fervor.
The students of SHS can recollect a few moments of the past where Houston has made an impact to their ears.
“I will remember Houston as a singer. I think it is important to look at her career positively instead of thinking of her as someone whose life was filled with drug and alcohol abuse,” said Reed Bie, 9.
Houston, who was infamous for her large amounts of substance abuse, is also known for musical triumphs like her singing the national anthemat Super Bowl XXV.
“Even though I wasn’t alive when Houston sang the national anthem at Super Bowl XXV, my parents told me how well she sang it. Once I did hear it, I knew she was special,” said Sammi Kruger, 12.
“Recently on Yahoo, I saw that one of the writers said that Houston sang the best national anthem in sports history. I couldn’t agree more,” said Nancie Hunter, 9.
Whitney Houston’s significant impact on the music industry is just a piece of legacy that will never be forgotten.
