During the off season both boys and girls have morning conditioning every Tues. and Thurs. at the Gregory Center from 6:00 to 6:30 am.
“During conditioning we do a lot of foot work and running,” said Nakita Tandon, 10
While tennis conditioning can help students get in shape for the tennis season and it can help swimmers with their foot work it could also have bad effects.
People who have participated in conditioning said that they have to get up at 5:00 am to get there at 6:00 am.
This would not be a problem but most students do not get to bed until 10:00 or 11:00 pm at night. This could cause students to catch up on their sleep during the school day.
Catching up on sleep during the day means that grades could start slipping. Morning conditioning can be good for some people but could ruin other’s grades.
“They should make conditioning after school so you get your workout in, but you’re not losing sleep,” said Esther Kaplan, 9
