The Gold tennis team was able to beat their longtime rivals in an epic 3-2 win on Fri, Apr 21.

It has been seven years since the Bombers were eliminated in the team state tournament.

“I was extremely happy to beat St. X. In my previous two years as an Ave we haven’t been able to beat them in the state tournament and it was great to get some revenge,” said Nikhil Grandhi, 11.

The Varsity A tennis team still has a lot of work to be done.

“We shouldn’t be satisfied with this win. Although it does feel good, we have a ways to go in accomplishing our original goal of winning state,” said Brian Goodman, 11.

“Up next is Bellbrook and that is a match we have to win. Hopefully we can get past that match and continue our run,” said Goodman.
