Monday, Feb 13, fifteen aspiring singers give it their all on live television. Twelve were picked to be trained for competition by Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, or Christina Aguilera.

This is “The Voice,” whose season premiere garnered an impressive 37.6 million viewers after the 2012 Super Bowl.

“I think reality singing competitions are kind of funny. The way the judges scream at the bad singers is hilarious,” said Dasha Beniash, 9.

The first episodes of the second season have shown “blind auditions.” Contestants perform while the four judges face the opposite direction. If the singer is lucky, one or more judges will trigger their seat to spin around.

Contestants then choose a coach from the judges who picked them. Whichever coach they agree to go with trains them until the final episodes, when the performers compete against each other to win the show.

Although “The Voice” has succeeded so far in ratings, some die-hard “American Idol” fans still return to their favorite show.

“Although Simon is gone, I still love the show, because some of my favorite singers were winners from the show,” said Alyssa Waters, 9.
