Everybody has heard about Whitney Houston, beloved singer, passing away. It was a couple hours before a pre party for the Grammys, and she was found dead in a bathtub.
“I didn’t really know who she was, but everybody was posting things on Facebook about her,” said David Jacobs, 12. People believed her to have drowned, but further investigations have proved that theory wrong.
Houston’s family was informed by the LA Police that she had most probably died from a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol.
“My mom told me she used to be an amazing singer, but then she sort of just, gave up on herself so to speak,” said Ellie Gibson, 9. “She ruined her life, that’s all I have to say,” said Olivia Bell, 10.
The sudden change in Houston really began in the late 90s, when she was always hours late to interviews and canceling concerts. She also began to do drugs and alcohol.
On January 11, 2000, she and her husband were caught with drugs in their luggage while they were on their way to Hawaii, but never got in trouble.
All of this eventually caught up with her February 11 when she was found dead by her aunt, Mary Jones. For more information on her early career and death, go to tmz.com.
