Carmel Rechnitzer

Hello, I am Carmel Rechnitzer, and this is my first year working for the Leaf. This year, I'm honored to be so involved in both Sycamore's and the local community, thanks to my participation in the Leaf, and though my involvement in all of the upcoming Aves Theatre main stage productions this year. Furthermore, this year I'm privileged with the opportunity to direct my own play to compete in this year's One Act Festival. Not one for staying idle, I will also be returning to another wonderful year with the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Gorundlings Youth Program, as well as manning the soundboard again for the community theater ensemble, East Side Players.

My current accomplishments include having been a part of over twenty theatrical productions in the past three years with several more lined up for this one, receiving the Cappies Commendee award from Mr. Whapham, the school director, being voted Ensemble Member of the year during my sophomore year by my fellow Theater students, as well acting as a counselor for the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's summer program for the past two summers.

Dewar Profile:

My favorite time of day is midafternoon, the best time to work, nap or relax.

My bookworm habits keep me up at night.

People are always surprised when I sing gospel.

My favorite thing to do on the computer is to write short stories.

In ten years, I will be spending day and night in a theater, working happily.

If I could dine with any figure in history, I'd love to chit-chat with the first sentient human being, because he or she could answer so many of my questions.
